October 29th, 2004: - Philadelphia lost its last game in preseason yesterday against New Jersey, 96-94. The Sixers finished the preseason with 6 wons and only 2 defeats. On Wednesday, Philadelphia opens its season at Boston.

October 28th, 2004: - O'Brien had a plan in mind when he decided to put Marc Jackson on the floor last tuesday: his goal is to make the Sixers as good a team as they can be. He said to Jackson "Unless Samuel Dalembert can beat you out for that position, we will never be the team that I think we can be. Then I said, 'Your job, Marc, is to make sure he never takes the job off you." " And Sammy's job is to make sure he takes the job off Marc."



October 27th, 2004: - Big surprise at Philadelphia when Sixers coach Jim O'Brien announced the starting lineup for the season opener, which is a week from tonight in Boston: Iverson - McKie - Iguodala - Thomas - Jackson. No Willie Green, no Glenn Robinson, and especially no Sam Dalembert! But the Sixers won 97-86.

October 25th, 2004:Samuel spoke yesterday about his present and his future with Philadelphia :
"It does matter for me to start, I'm not going to lie. For whatever reason, I do want to start and will do my best to earn my spot." (if a new contract wasn't in place by the deadline):"If that's the case, it's not the end of the world. But disappointed? No. If that's what they want to do, if they want to risk [what could happen] next summer, when other teams come into play, that's up to them. I'm going to play hard every time, regardless. I'm going to do my job. I love the game; I want to be the best at it. There are a lot of goals I have.''

October 6th, 2004: - Samuel Dalembert, will donate $20,000 to assist in the relief efforts for his hometown of Haiti following the destruction caused by Hurricane Jeanne. With additions from the NBA and Jim O'Brien, Samuel will give to the Red Cross a donation of $41 000.
